Music Ana Maria Hester

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Hester

I am the Music and Choir teacher here at RRES! I have had the pleasure of sharing my passion for music with our little roadrunners for 9 years now!

Our First trimester of music was so much fun! Our 4th graders did an amazing job honoring Veterans every where with beautiful patriotic music, art work and heartfelt speeches!

In 5th grade, we have been exploring our music reading skills, breaking down classical pieces into their musical "form", and independently creating musical ostinati!

In 3rd grade, we have been learning what the treble clef notes are on the music staff, exploring works by the composers Edvard Grieg and Camille Saint-Saens, and perfecting our rhythm reading skills!

In 2nd grade, we have been learning new rhythms, reading melodic and rhythmic flash cards, singing by ourselves and in smaller groups and learning note values!

In 1st grade we have been exploring our singing voices, following melodic direction and learning about musical dynamics and tempo (volume and speed)

and in Kindergarten we have been differentiating between beat and rhythm, learning rhyming songs, reading books and playing lots of games that reinforce steady beat and use of singing voice!

We have so much fun in music class! We use the smart board quite a bit, and have super cool black lights that allow us to move in the dark!
