Native American Education

Welcome to the Rio Rancho Elementary School's Native American Parent Advisory Council.  My name is Mrs. Foster, and I am the Native American Liaison for our school.  This year we will meet once every trimester in room 200 at the Rio Rancho Elementary School to discuss how we can support our Native American students better and build a stronger school community.  The meeting dates and times are as follows:

November 6, 2017 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm;
January 16, 2018 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm;
March 8, 2018 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

Once I have a list of contacts for our Native American students, I will be contacting families by phone.

Students with completed 506c forms will receive vouchers for our spring book fair. In order to be considered complete, the form must include the student's tribal ID number.  In order to receive the voucher, we are asking the parents to actively participate in our Native American school community.  You will have to attend two of the meetings, or come and present something from your culture to a group of students in an after-school club which will be held during the second trimester.  More details to come once the dates become available...

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  You can reach me by calling the school at (505)892-0220 extension 200, or by email elena.foster@rrps.net.
