Summer Reading

Reading is even more important over the summer.   There are many programs that encourage children to read over the summer and get free stuff.  Remember the more kids practice reading, the better they will become at reading.  Below is a list with links to some of my favorite reading programs.

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program
Children read eight books and get a free book from Barnes and Noble.  This begins May 16th and is for kids in 1st to 6th grades.  You will need to download a reading journal in either English or Spanish.

Rio Rancho Public Libraries Summer Reading Program
Registration begins June 1st
Read to earn books and check their calendar for many fun events at both Rio Rancho Libraries.
