RRE Announcements
Helping Hands Rainbow—Rio Rancho Elementary School students received 1,217 helping hand cut outs for the acts of kindness that they showed in a two week period in January. Each color of the rainbow represents a grade level. There are a lot of kind hearts in this school!!! This Positive Behavior Support activity was sponsored by the Math and Science committee and included morning riddles for children to solve that involved math and the science of rainbows. We are so proud of our Roadrunners for their empathetic hearts and knowledgeable responses.
Attention Native American Students:
Join us for a fun, educational learning experience during the 2012 American Indian Summer Academy: A Robotic Adventure! The summer academy will take place July 23-Aug. 3 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday at Puesta del Sol Elementary School. Registration forms are available at www.rrps.net. Registration deadline is June 15, 2012. For more information contact Victoria Tafoya at 896.0667.
Common Core Standards
New Mexico is one of 46 states that have adopted a new set of academic standards known as the Common Core State Standards. These standards will be fully implemented in all schools and all grades by 2014.
